$7000 to support an improved version of the first ever resource app for LGBTQ asylum seekers to the Greater Pittsburgh community, we are submitting a request for this grant. Together, we can ensure all persecuted and marginalized LGBTQ people in the Pittsburgh area have access to verified LGBTQ-and immigrant-friendly services.
AsylumConnect is a nonprofit using technology to connect LGBTQ asylum seekers with safe verified services and support in their new home. We provide the first and only resource website and app designed for LGBTQ asylum. LGBTQ asylum seekers and related populations (undocumented LGBTQ immigrants, homeless LGBTQ youth) use AsylumConnect as a free digital one-stop-shop to meet their needs in all aspects of their lives. We are founded on the belief that there should never be a time when someone does not know where it is safe to go for help due to their LGBTQ identity or immigration status.
