The Corner, a grassroots community outreach program of Friendship Community Church, is a multi-purpose space connecting neighbors to social service resources and affordable programming centered on the arts, social justice advocacy, education, and community engagement. Born out of the need for a local, safe “third-place” space, The Corner serves as a neighborhood hub where community members can be part of something bigger than themselves and have a voice.
$5,000 to global posse productions go support Our Rhythm’s Musicalidades, a diverse series of multicultural performances aiming to connect groups within the Pittsburgh community through local and international music and cultural events.
Our Rhythm is a multi-cultural platform that promotes diversity and cultural understanding through music. The project includes development of a full-length documentary that will portray the relation between music and culture in seven countries, multicultural music performances by artists from various cultural backgrounds, and panel discussions where music and art help participants to learn about distinct social/cultural contexts.
$10,000 to support the 2018 Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts, a showcase of visual art, theater, dance, music, and public exhibitions never before seen in the United States.
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has helped to transform a section of downtown Pittsburgh into a world-class Cultural District that stands as a national model of urban revitalization through the arts. Touring Broadway, contemporary dance, family events, education and community engagement programs, and cutting-edge visual arts are among the variety of arts and entertainment the Trust presents and exhibits.
$8,000 to support the year-round operating and program expenses of Silk Screen.
Silk Screen‘s mission is to celebrate diversity and multi-cultural appreciation of the Asian and Asian American experience through cultural events: primarily through the arts via music, dance and film. Silk Screen’s goals include educating communities about Asian and Asian American history, culture, experiences and issues, fostering understanding across lines of race, ethnicity, religion, age, and region, and sustaining growth and encouraging excellence in Asian American culture.
$2,500 to PF/PCA to support “The Other Border Wall Proposals, Phase Two“ an ongoing project led by three Pittsburgh-based artists and designers: Tereneh Mosley, Leah Patgorski, and Jenn Meridian, working as JM Design Studios, with two public opportunities to further engage and develop this work in Texas and California.
$8,000 to support general operating for the 2017-2018 season.
Film Pittsburgh presents independent films from around the world, deepening audiences’ understanding of culture, tolerance, and our common humanity. Programs include the JFilm Festival, Pittsburgh Shorts Film Festival, ReelAbilities Film Festival, the Robinson International Short Film Competition, and Teen Screen.
ArtUp instigates insight by activating art. Undertaking on the ground initiatives, the organization builds global interchanges for the migration of ideas across political and cultural boundaries.

Utilizing a range of disciplines to conjure their personal ghosts, veteran artists Frank Ferraro and Adrienne Wehr take us on a fearless journey of life on life’s terms.
In the Company of Ghosts resides at the intersection of actual experience, perceived memory, transformation and hope. Ferraro, diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease 15 years ago, provides a personal glimpse into his altered reality, while Wehr reveals how challenge reigns as our greatest teacher. Both remind us, that regardless the obstacle along the way, acceptance, release, and triumph are indeed possible after all.

Pittsburgh International Classic Theatre (PICT) is an internationally recognized, non-profit theatre company committed presenting the highest quality productions for the widest audience. Their productions feature innovative, minimalist design, and examine current social issues through the lens of classic text.
