A broad coalition of organizations and agencies, being convened by several of our grant partners, is asking Pittsburgh-based Colcom Foundation to stop funding white nationalist political work around the U.S.
We stand in solidarity with this coalition by signing the open letter to call on Colcom to stop funding the network of anti-immigrant groups it has long supported. We advocate for the legal rights of immigrants and refugees to stay in the U.S. without fear and believe in the humanity of those who face enormous harm due, in no small part, to Colcom’s funding.
The Opportunity Fund supports social and economic justice with a focus on racial justice, as well as the arts. We often support those marginalized groups who are growing their own power within community, including immigrants, refugees and people who are at risk of deportation.
We are one of many supportive organizations who believe it is a reasonable and mainstream position to request that Colcom Foundation discontinue their funding and support of this dangerous and extremist work. Most importantly, we are advocating with this coalition by asking Colcom to direct all of its funding to civic and conservation projects for the common good.
We invite others to join us and stand with this coalition.
