Ujamaa Collective for Seven Wild Dreams
$10,000 to support Pushout in Pittsburgh: A Black Girl’s Story, a student-led youth participatory action research project created, driven and disseminated by Seven Wild Dreams, a group high school-aged black girls and femmes in Pittsburgh documenting their experiences of pushout in order to organize for education justice.
Ujamaa Collective is an organization of women of African descent who are entrepreneurs, artisans, artists and individuals who are committed to serving their community through leadership. Seven Wild Dreams is founded and supported by black women with a structure of shared intergenerational leadership and uses grassroots political change to dismantle the harmful beliefs, policies and practices that push black girls and femmes out of school.
