Foundation of HOPE & Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force

$20,000 to Foundation of HOPE, in parternship with the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force (PATF). This grant will enhance HOPE’s Aftercare Program by increasing “mentors” from 42-100 over the next 3 years. Also, in partnership with PATF, this funding will bring HIV/HEP C/STI consulting and testing, as well as prevention education, to Aftercare participants.

Founded in 2002, Foundation of HOPE‘s mission is to empower incarcerated and released individuals to restore their relationship with God, rebuild their lives and reconcile their communities. Aftercare is a reintegration program that serves recently released ex-offenders and provides them with informational resources; guidance about education and employment; mental health and addiction services; and basic needs, such as housing, food assistance, clothing, obtaining identification and accessing medical assistance.

Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force is dedicated to supporting and empowering all individuals living with HIV/AIDS and preventing the spread of infection. Building on three decades of caring and experience in Southwestern Pennsylvania, they accomplish this mission by:

  • Integrating the voice of consumers into all they do
  • Serving as a primary resource for HIV/AIDS support, information, prevention, and testing
  • Collaborating with and educating other organizations, providers, and the community
  • Operating with the highest ethical standards, and maximizing limited resources
  • Providing a safe and confidential environment for those in need in our community, and
  • Working to eliminate the devastating impact of stigma.
