Fayette County Community Action Agency
$15,000 to Fayette County Community Action Agency (FCCAA) to implement the Circles® Program in Fayette County. Circles® is a nationally-known, proven, and innovative way of connecting people across socioeconomic lines in an effort to move people & families out of poverty. A 2014 National Survey of Circle Leaders who stayed in the program for at least 18 months showed that earned income increased by an average of 181%, and cash assets increased by 206%.
The Circles® Program pairs households in poverty with a small group of “Allies” providing mentoring, education, resources and support, bridging the inequality gap, and equipping them to move out of poverty into a state that is self-sufficient.
FCCAA’s mission is to strengthen individuals and families to become more self-sufficient, achieving their potential by taking advantage of opportunities, improving the conditions in which they live, and taking ownership of their community.
