Flamenco Pittsburgh creates awareness and appreciation for flamenco music, song and dance for audiences and performers in the Pittsburgh area who share Hispanic heritage or simply a passion for global culture. Through classes, performances, and outreach, we create a cultural hub – a vibrant, inclusive community of students, performers and patrons, celebrating flamenco’s power to express universal emotion, inspire confidence through self-expression, and nurture global-mindedness and global connection. Programming celebrates flamenco’s roots in the Gitano (Romani) culture in Spain, and the rhythmic influence of marginalized cultures there – Jewish, North African, Indian, Islamic, and others.
